Barique comes from the Tagalog word, “Barik” /bäˈrik/. It is a colloquial slang for drinking alcohol, particularly in social, casual, or traditional contexts. It often refers to informal gatherings where friends or family share alcoholic drinks, especially locally made spirits like lambanog, tuba, or gin. The word is associated with camaraderie, relaxation, and the Filipino drinking culture.
Our Heritage
For generations, our family has worked with the coconut–the tree of life–crafting products that reflect the rich traditions of our heritage. Barique, our newest creation, is a coconut lambanog named after the old word, “barik,” meaning “let’s drink.” It represents an invitation to gather, share stories, and celebrate the moments that bring people together. Each bottle is made with care using distillation techniques passed down through centuries, blending culture and craftsmanship.
